How to Find If Someone Has Blocked You on iMessage

iMessage is one of the most popular and widely used messaging apps, largely due to how simple and practical it is. But if you’ve suddenly had trouble using iMessage to send messages and they aren’t getting through to the other end, that may be the problem. The reasons why this could occur are numerous. You can try to reach them in another method if the other person’s phone isn’t working, which is one reason it might not be working. On the other side, if they have blocked you on iMessage, that might be why your messages are not getting through.

Below are several ways to check if someone has blocked you on iMessage.

Verify that you have received the Delivery notification.

When you send a message to someone using iMessage, the programme lets you know whether it was sent successfully or not. If so, “Delivered” will appear under your sent message. In a similar vein, iMessage also provides a “Read Receipts” function that lets the other party know when you have seen and received their message. However, turning that feature on is a matter of personal preference, and some people prefer to leave it off as well. Your message won’t be sent if the recipient’s phone is not online, inoperable, or even switched off. As a result, you won’t receive any delivered notifications in the interim. Therefore, it is advisable to be patient and wait for a few hours. Then, if the same thing happens when you try to send a message again, they may have blocked you in that case.

Bypass the Do Not Disturb Mode

Another option is that the person you are attempting to contact via iMessage may have left his or her iPhone in Do Not Disturb Mode without remembering to turn it off.

Make a call and watch what happens

Making a phone call to the person you think has blocked you and paying attention to what happens on the call will allow you to determine whether they have blocked you on iMessage.

Your Contact is probably busy and has not blocked you on iMessage if you can hear the Call Ringing normally (several times) before it goes to voicemail.

When the phone momentarily rings (once or twice) and then abruptly switches to voicemail, it is likely that this person has blocked you on iMessage.

After hiding your caller ID, dial the blocker from a different number

You can still try it if you believe that the individual who answers your call is not doing so on purpose by disguising your caller ID from them. Given that they can’t see who is calling, there is a likelihood that they will answer the call.

On your iPhone, tap on Phone under Settings to turn off caller ID. Scroll down to the “Show My Caller ID” option in this column, and then select “Off.”
