The issue of contacts not appearing on iPhones is frequently caused by iCloud contacts not synchronizing, iCloud contacts being mistakenly disabled, or iCloud contacts not being enabled.
In addition, wrong iCloud settings, iCloud bugs, email contacts not synchronizing on your device, and other issues might result in the iPhone not displaying the Contacts issue.
UNHIDE CONTACTS
Contacts on your iPhone are divided up into many groups by iOS. The accounts to which the contacts on your phone are linked are used to categorize them. Ensure your iPhone is set up to display contacts from all connected accounts if your iPhone contacts don’t appear.
- On your iPhone, open the Phone app and select the Contacts tab.
- Step 2: Select Group from the menu in the top left corner of the screen.
- Make sure to check each account. If not, select ‘Show All Contacts’ and then click Done to continue.
Restart iPhone
The Contacts App may not be functioning properly owing to a stuck app or service, which could be the only cause of the issue.
Click on Shut Down by scrolling down in Settings > General. Use the Slider to turn off iPhone on the following screen.
Wait for 60 seconds after the iPhone has been completely turned off before pressing the Power button to restart it.
MODIFY ACCOUNTS SETTINGS
Make sure Contacts synchronization for all associated accounts on your iPhone is turned on if you can’t discover some contacts on your iPhone.
- Launch the Settings menu and choose Contacts
- Tap Accounts
- Make sure Contacts sync is turned on by tapping each account listed under the Accounts section.
RE-ENABLE SHORT NAME
With the help of the iOS feature known as Short Name, contacts on your iPhone will now simply have their first name, last name, or a combination of the two. In some native and third-party programs, this allows users to accommodate more names on the screen, however, it can cause visibility concerns. If, for example, contacts are missing from Messages, re-enabling Short Name can aid in their reappearance.
- Launch Settings and select Contacts.
- Tap Short Name.
- Toggle off Short Name, wait for a minute and turn it back on.
Switch iMessages OFF/ON
Disabling and reenabling the Messages App has been reported to solve issues where Contacts aren’t showing up in the app.
Turn off iMessage by going to Settings > Messages.
To enable iMessage again on your iPhone after the 30-second delay, slide the toggle next to it to the ON position.
Re-sync Email Contacts
Re-enabling Email Contacts will assist solve the issue if your contacts are being saved to Gmail, Outlook, or other email services.
Select your email service provider by going to Settings > Contacts > Accounts.
On the next screen, move the toggle next to Contacts to the OFF position.
Wait for 30 seconds and move the toggle next to Contacts to the ON position and see if you are now able to save Contacts to your iPhone.
